• CANCER. It’s an evil condition that spreads destructively. While it is always uplifting to have support from family, as for the activities that you plan after treatment,  make sure to consult your doctor. Be more specific in asking for a TO DO list. Also, seek help from a Nutrition Inspector or an expert since you need to make sure your food intake is appropriate and healthy.

    There is no total solution after a treatment. In fact, even your medicines have equivalent side effects with them. In short, it would be best for you to take note of a complete health solution. Your full cooperation would be necessary, as a little failure in abiding the sent-home instructions can be dangerous. Nonetheless, if you’re totally treated, you should know it by now. Among others, here are a few reminders you should consider.

    1. Exercise

    A gentle reminder before planning your physical workarounds – ask your physician for the do’s and don’ts. Generally, doctors would advise you to have at least 30 minutes of exercise, 5 times a day, every week. This may include walking, stretching programs and range-of-motion (ROM) exercises like yoga, tai-chi style exercises, swimming, and aerobic activities. This will get your healthy cells back into operation.

    2. Food Choices

    Most of the time, you will be requested to avoid too much salt, sugar and oil. That means healthy food consumption is mandatory. Consider tomatoes and carrots, oranges and apples, lemons and grapes, banana and kiwi, mango and cherries (or fruits in general) to provide you the vitamins and natural fluids. Asparagus and cabbage, or similar vegetables, are also rich in antioxidants which will guard your body from harmful cancer cells waiting to attack and eventually develop.

    3. Zero Alcohol

    By consuming alcohol, you are giving the bad cells the chance to take place in your system once more.

    Red wine may be an exception, because it contains a substance called Resveratrol which has been observed to have anticancer properties. However, remember that its effectiveness in preventing or treating cancer is not proven yet. It is always best to ask your doctor.

    4. Safeguard Medical Records

    Your history should all be in one place. Keep it altogether in a binder or an envelope. You can even upload it online and have it protected by a password. This helps you keep track of your personal medical information for legal matters, and for your doctor to design a treatment plan in case it comes back.

    5. Take Supplement As Advised

    Vegetable supplements that help lower blood sugar levels and chewable calcium and iron are now available in organic and natural drugstores. Just as there are lean meats, fish, or ready poultry elsewhere, there are food supplements made to contain such without having too much synthetic product on it. Nuts and dried beans for your protein supply need not be harvested fresh, as there are local medicines made approved to include organic ingredients.

    6. Keep Out the Sun

    Early morning sunlight might be good but the moment the sun goes high and starts to bite, get yourself canopied. There is a possibility that your natural body protection has become weak after you underwent treatment. Remember that when cancer cells were terminated, and there was a good chance your healthy cells were hit at the same time. Take note of your exposure, as a little carelessness can be damaging. Thanks to the unhealthy and prickly sun, once recovered, you can still easily be prone to catching the same cancer cells.
